Sablan To’wing falls Reopened

The Municipal Local Government Unit decided to reopen its eco-tourism sites to the public (on regulated activities only while awaiting formalization of operational procedures) particularly the famed To’wing Waterfalls located at Lower Poblacion. A ceremonial re-opening using our local culture was observed today at the site itself. The said event gathered our fellow service workers in the media, representatives of our provincial authorities/offices and most of our BLGU officials not only from Barangay Poblacion. Offices of this LGU including the national assigns were also either represented by their corresponding heads or authorized representatives. Most Importantly, the heirs of both Lenneng and Bosoy clans of either side of To’wing river’s locale were adequately represented and a number of the said site’s neighborhood as well. The event shows that tourism is everybody’s business and can never be claimed by anyone but is a community collaborative work between the government and the community concerned with each having a hand in making the industry work wherever or whatever the tourism site or activity is. Our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Alfredo B. Dacumos Jr. along with our Sangguniang Bayan Members spearheaded this occasion on December 1, 2022.

A site Development Plan was most long finalized (the one presented here though is still to infuse the amendments recently made). Hopefully this administration from the national depts. to local government units will ably support this collaborative eco-tourism program in terms of all the resources needed to put up the needed facilities to make it an operational tourism site that can conveniently cater to tourists.
