Tengsho Falls, is the latest splendidly scenic body of water that will soon be offered to eco-scene spectators/tourists located at
Barangay Banengbeng Sablan Benguet. This potential eco-tourism site still needs to undergo various procedures in paper and even in the most basic facilities before it could be opened to eco-enthusiasts. The first step undertaken in order to open it to public was this validation. Much as the strengths are visible, so are the needs. This way, the site will remain protected in the course of public visits and so are the visitors and the community. BLGU-Banengbeng shall collaboratively work together with the Municipal and Provincial government units thru the concerned personalities and offices to see to it that the said site and visitors will be responsibly attended to in the course of the BLGU’s management, as well as the affected areas and properties leading to the area. Per the initial assessment, the site is indeed strongly recommended to be considered an eco-tourism site. With this consensus, upon the BLGU’s declaration of it and the affirmation of the authorities concerned, the SDP, IRRs and other pertinent agreements, procedures, issuances and trainings need to follow.
The said falls is approximated to be between 80 to 100 feet high. The accurate height of the drop has yet to be determined. The pool area has a depth of not more than 5 feet (during summer) that offers a safe, cool, clean and refreshing swim even during a sunny weather since the waters flow directly from tributary springs. Spectators has to go through a 45-minute casual downhill trek and an hour of uphill trek coming back. Spring fresh water refill is offered along the way as seen thru the bamboo pipes on a strategic slope along the pathway. As the site is ecological, expect the footpaths to be a rugged terrain in the mountainside. Caution should be observed from tripping and falling. Physical endurance is a bit challenged but it forms part of the adventure.
The assigned Validation Team on this assignment is thankful to BLGU-Banengbeng headed by no less than Hon.
James Rafael, assisted by Brgy. Kag.
Nestor Sumakey and the rest of the Brgy officials and officers. Pinawaan da piman ti dalan sakbay ti validation and already as tourism hosts, they proved they are capable.
