March 27, 2023, LGU-Sablan led by the Hon. Mayor Alfredo B. Dacumos Jr. and Hon. Vice Mayor Arthur C. Baldo recognized the services of Hon. Dennis E. Pistula IPMR of Barangay Banengbeng during a briefly held Salamat-Mabuhay program for his three years of service in the LGU in his capacity as Ex-Officio SB Member – IPMR. Said program was held simultaneous with the Oath-Taking and Turn-Over Ceremonies where Hon. Dicanay A. Tinay, IPMR of Barangay Pappa, already reached his turn to take-up the former’s post in the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan of Sablan as Municipal IPMR and Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Bayan. His authorization as the next IPMR in the SB was earlier confirmed by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) authorities. Hon. Dicanay is already the third IPMR to serve as an additional member of the Sangguniang Bayan.

All the eight barangays of our municipality have their respective IPMR. The first set of Barangay IPMRs duly came up with their agreement identifying the Barangay’s turn for SB Membership. This agreement was since upheld and continues to be observed by the said representations. The late Hon. Nieves M. Saguibal, then IPMR of Barangay Banangan, was the first ever IPMR in our Municipal Council, followed by Hon. Pistula. Hon. Tinay will officially assume his office on April 1.
