MANDATE

• The MENR Office is mandated to protect, conserve and manage the environment by integrating planning, implementation monitoring and evaluation of programs, projects and activities of the municipality on local environment management.

VISION

• To strengthen Local Government Unit capacities for environmental governance, empower the people and communities to be able to provide them equal access to opportunities and secured future through restoration, conservation and protection of the environment.

MISSION

• To coordinate to all sectors in the society in attaining an ecologically balance sound environment.

1. Formulate measures for the consideration of the Sanggunian and provide technical assistance and support to the mayor, in carrying out measures to ensure the delivery of basic services as provided for under section 17 of the Local Government Code of 1991;
2. Develop plans and strategies and upon approval thereof by the mayor, implement the same, particularly those which have to do with environment and natural resources programs and projects which the mayor is empowered to implement and which the sanggunian is empowered to provide under the code;
3. Be in the front line of the delivery of services concerning the environment and natural resources, particularly the renewal and rehabilitation of the environment during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters and calamities; and
4. Recommend the sanggunian and advice the mayor on all matters relative to the protection, conservation, maximum utilization, application of appropriate technology and other matters related to environment and natural resources.
